I enjoy time with family and friends and have a passion for traveling. Traveling has given me the opportunity for new experiences and adventure. Recently I enjoyed a vacation in Costa Rica and literally swung through the jungle zip lining in the rain forest. My 35 plus years in the Early Childhood Education Profession has taught me a lot about how fortunate it is to be apart of so many children’s lives and their families. Part of my experiences have included my participation in two study tours in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Having had this life changing experience the child care centres I was the Director at became Reggio inspired and continue to embrace this approach to learning. I am dedicated to my profession and my work as a Child Care Advisor with the Ministry of Education has allowed me to participate in the development of How Does Learning Happen?, Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years and many other early years initiatives.
Being a new Board member of ORA is exciting to me as I have been a long time member of NAREA and to continue to promote the Reggio Emilia approach in Ontario is something that I would like to be apart of. Being from the northern part of Ontario I would like to promote ORA and bring a deeper understanding of the Reggio approach to learning. This is a year of learning and I feel privileged to be apart of this wonderful organization and everything it stands for.
