My early learning journey began after my second child was born when I decided to explore the possibility of opening a home based child care. I began researching early learning philosophies and found my calling. While completing my ECE education online, I was introduced to the Reggio Emilia approach. I was captivated by their view of the child, and I have been inspired by their work ever since. I was very fortunate to visit Reggio Emilia on three occasions: in 2013 I visited the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre (while on my honeymoon!), and I participated in two study tours in 2018 and 2024. I had the privilege to play a small role in bringing the Mosaic of Marks exhibit to Ottawa, and I look forward to continuing to work with ORA as a member of the Board of Directors.
