“There is No Path”
Belonging and engaging in a world
made of webs and interconnection.

Loris Malaguzzi said that not knowing is the condition that makes us continue to search.  Disrupting a linear view of teaching and learning, he instead embraced interconnection, which he claimed to be the great verb of the present and future.  “We are part of an ecosystem…our earthly journey is a journey made together with the environment, with nature, with the cosmos…[This is] where the great web of our lives exists.”  What are the webs of interconnection in the work we do in our current time, and what does it mean to walk together when there is no path?  Tiziana Filippini will provoke our thinking about the richness we can invite and co-create as educators in multiple layers of relationship in a complex world.

Saturday and Sunday, October 5th & 6th, 2019.
The Bishop Strachan School. Toronto, ON

Keynote Speaker:
Tiziana Filippini, Pedagogista

Tiziana Filippini was the long-standing pedagogista of the famous Diana Preschool in Reggio Emilia, which came to the world’s attention when it was featured by Newsweek in 1991 as one of the 10 best schools in the world, and that she worked with Loris Malaguzzi.  She coordinated the Documentation and Educational Research Centre of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Italy (1994-2009) and now collaborates with Reggio Children on current research projects, speaking at international conferences, and consulting widely in the field of early childhood education.
