Introduction to the Fundamentals of the Reggio Emilia Approach

We are offering this introductory session for those who are beginning to explore the values and principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach, as well as for those who would like to return to these ideas and think with them again.

For more than three decades, educators in Ontario have been in dialogue with the educational project of Reggio Emilia, asking what its values and principles might provoke us to reconsider within our own contexts. Ontario’s early years pedagogy, How Does Learning Happen?, reflects some of these influences.

This gathering will introduce some of the fundamental ideas of the Reggio Emilia Approach while creating opportunities to think together about the image of the child, relationships, participation, the hundred languages, listening, documentation, and research. Small-group conversation will be part of the session, and we encourage participants to bring a colleague so that the dialogue can continue beyond the gathering.

There is no registration fee, and the event is open to both ORA members and non-members. Please register using the link provided.
