Immersive encounters at the Museum of Nature

We are inviting ORA members to an immersive learning experience at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa, designed to deepen our engagement with design thinking. We will orient ourselves around a guiding question: “How can we recognize that we are part of the network of nature—that we all belong?”

Together, we’ll explore the concepts of belonging, interconnection, and our deep relationship with nature as we encounter three of the museum’s exhibits.

The Man who Planted Trees: This moving story will be a touchstone for our day, as we reflect on the quiet power of one individual’s dedication to re-integration. We’ll think about what it means to plant hope, to nurture ecosystems, and to foster a sense of belonging with all our relations.

Rewilding through Art: Thirteen Canadian artists bring the concept of rewilding to life, highlighting the vital role that nature plays in our communities through their compelling works of art. The exhibit invites us to re-think the boundaries we’ve placed between human civilization and the wilderness.

Symbiosis: Symbiosis is a hands-on art experience about forests created by artist cj fleury and over fifty Outaouais residents.

At the end of the immersive encounters, we will gather in a quiet area of the museum to reflect on our shared experience, connect to the possibilities and new perspectives that we can now share in our created contexts for children.
