Kerri Embrey

With a background in fine art and creative writing, Kerri Embrey has been working in Reggio-inspired environments with primary and junior-aged children for the last two decades. In her role as Lead Mentor and JS teacher at The Bishop Strachan School, she seeks to support practices of reciprocity and connection throughout the school. Her Master’s research with Dr. Carol Ann Wein at York University focused on radical listening through aesthetic engagement. Kerri enjoys opportunities to be in dialogue with and learn from other educators by consulting with schools who are embracing a constructivist approach to pedagogy. She has been delighted to share her work at conferences such as NAIS, NAEYC, AERA and NAREA. She has been involved with ORA for many years, supporting the board in various endeavors and teaching the ORA Emergent Curriculum modules. She continually finds wonder and renewal in the natural world and in the creative intelligence of children.
